Paul and Yvette’s wedding was an intimate affair shared with their loved ones and closest friends under the full moon and palm trees. I loved every minute spent with these two! Loved their relaxed approach to their wedding, the casual elegance of the day, but most importantly the chemistry they share. I’m grateful and honoured to have documented this love story. <3
One of my favourite weddings of 2017 was definitely Rachel and Luke’s for so many reason!
It felt like a mini reunion with the bridal party, having photographed Rachel’s bridesmaid’s wedding 2 years ago (click to see Lucy’s enchanted wedding).
The wedding took place at Rachel’s grandparents’ cattle farm where she grew up. The place holds so many special memories for Rachel and her family and was beautiful all lit up. The woodland and rustic decor was lovingly made and set up by family and friends. Their dog Bella walked down the aisle and was given a special spot with the bridal party. After the ceremony, we drove around the property and took photographs at some of Rachel and Luke’s favourite places — the pine and ironbark forest, the creek she and her friends grew up swimming at, and the ghost gum grove.
As the sun set, guests relaxed and mingled with drinks from a pop-up bar and lawn games. Reception was held under a giant marquee decked out in fairy lights, catered by Cairns Spit Roast. A live band played all night and when it started to get cool, guests hung out around the bonfire while others danced. A lot of guests camped on-site (what a great idea!) so they could party late into the night and not have to worry about going home.
It was so well planned and executed for a bush wedding.
P.S. Special thanks to my awesome second photographer Kobie Johnson who blitzed his first massive wedding with me and covered groom prep and lawn games with so many great shots that I couldn’t have been there for. x
This is a modern day fairytale about a Canadian princess meeting her Australian prince charming and it has a very happy ending that we get to be a part of.
The princess also has a beautiful twin sister! (So we are patiently waiting for a similarly enchanting sequel.)
Congratulations, Jenna and Brendan! x
Port Douglas wedding photographer
Christine and Jacob’s Port Douglas wedding was a picture-perfect destination wedding and an absolute joy to experience. With Jacob being from America, it was a treat for his family and friends to holiday in the North Queensland tropics and see him get married. Christine’s beautiful sisters and best friend matched perfectly with Jacob’s best man and brothers. Their playful energy made for some beautiful bridal party photographs.
The pair also sneaked away for an hour to have a quiet walk in the rainforest and Port Douglas’ Four Mile Beach, before joining their bridal party for some fun group photos.
As the sun set, friends and families had cocktails and canapés in the courtyard of Harrison’s Bistro H across from their chapel, before sitting down to an alfresco dining experience.
I get tired of saying I photograph the best clients, but really I do. This wedding was so special. I laughed way too much; everyone was friendly and fun, and every photographic opportunity came together effortlessly.
Thank you, Christine and Jacob, for allowing me to document your wedding and be a part of your amazing day. x
