Sydney
Sydney was a long awaited journey I’ve been meaning to take. I was born and raised in big cities, and the big city lights, its antique architecture, the crowds, the restaurants, the lone train rides… they were all calling me back after 3 years of living in Cairns.
And the Sydney Opera House… It’s been photographed, talked about, visited to death, and I wasn’t even anticipating it any more than just another tourist spot. But wow, when I first caught sight of it, I was blown away. I don’t really know how to explain its beauty, other than that I was jumping up and down trying to catch a glimpse of it from a distance, the way you would your favourite celebrity. And then when I got closer, I was even more star struck. For a photographer, it is a beauty to capture. The lines, the curves, the triangles…
And the rest of Sydney, well I haven’t seen it all yet, but what I’ve seen I’ve loved. Maybe it was just because I was withdrawn from the familiar feelings that I once called being home. Still, it’s an interesting, lively city, and I can’t wait to go back.
