Peta & Steven {Lake Tinaroo, Atherton Tablelands Wedding}
I don’t even know how to begin to describe how much I enjoyed this wedding. Peta was one of the coolest brides I’ve ever met. As a mum of 2 and a business owner, you’d think she’d be stressed out juggling all that and planning a wedding, but she couldn’t be calmer about it. Her cool collective vibes set the tone for the day and set everyone at ease. The week they came to stay at Lake Tinaroo, it never stopped raining. That morning the rain must have rolled across the lake half a dozen times, but each time she would say something like, ‘Let it come. It’ll pass.’ It was impossible not to risk getting wet to see Peta and Steven get married against the perfect backdrop of the lake, so we waited until the very last minute to make a decision of where to have the ceremony. The rain ended up leaving at 3pm. The sun even came out and shone down on us for a while, so they got to have their ceremony outdoors after all.
And what a love fest it was! These two have been together for a decade and their love and bond really show. The fact that practically everyone cried before, during and after the ceremony says a lot about the kind of couple they are, and the people they surround themselves with. One of my favourite parts about being a wedding photographer is the fact that I get to spend time with the couple’s families and close friends on such a momentous occasion, feel their joy and witness so many beautiful moments shared between them. That kind of energy is highly contagious and it must have left us all buzzing for days.
I adored the energy and love that flowed through every part of this wedding. Watching Peta dress her kids was beautiful. Watching her parents react as they saw her in her dress for the first time. Hanging out with Peta and bridemaids in the morning, and the boys in the afternoon, chasing the last of the sunlight, making dirty jokes… it was all too much fun for one day.
There was so much love in the air that it brought not one, but two rainbows! Definitely something magical was happening there!
Congratulations, you two! I wish you and your beautiful family an eternity of love and happiness. x
