Sakura and sumo
8 years ago I packed up my bags and moved to Japan to teach English. The experience of living in the enchanting country, immersed in its culture and history and natural beauty, stayed with me until this day.
I’ve moved a lot and done even more since then, but the JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) life is something that I’ll remember forever.
I think that’s why they have JETAA. It’s a club for us recovering JETs, who never truly get over what must be one of the best jobs anyone can ever get.
Last year the Queensland chapter held a photo competition and I entered some of my old photos of Japan. Tonight I got an email to let me know that my entries have won and will be featured in an exhibition.
Korakuen in the spring was the winning entry for Scenic Japan and Sumo Shower was runner-up in the cultural category.
Yatta!
