New life | Cairns Maternity Photography

I used to write creative non-fiction stories, and my favourite part of the writing process was always writing the first paragraph. How a story began had so much impact on the rest of it.

 

The story of how Zen Photography began is pretty cool. I touched on it in my About me blurb. The decision to abandon everything safe and pursue my lifelong dream came just before a big milestone birthday, and here I am.

 

Speaking of births, in a way I feel like I really only discovered life 3 years ago when I became pregnant with my little boy. That was when the world opened itself up in a magical way, revealing its secrets on how to experience it all in a not so tangible way.

 

That’s why I’m sharing these pictures with you first. I shot Kate when she was 38 weeks pregnant. The easiness and the grace with which she carried her baby throughout the entire pregnancy was just wonderful to watch. It brought me back to my own pregnancy. What a beautiful time…
