Capturing joy // Port Douglas Family Photography

Monique contacted me only a few days last month before this impromptu holiday photo session that would see all of us run around and have the best laughs at Four Mile Beach in Port Douglas. The golden sunlight was warm and inviting. Her two daughters were delightful and so full of energy! At the start of our session she told me she was a family photographer herself, which made me freak out a little (no pressure!) but the fact that another family photographer valued my work enough to trust my vision for her own family was the ultimate compliment I could hope for. It also meant collaborating with another artist’s vision to create some of the most candid but artful family photographs I’ve shot to date.

But the most important thing I walked away with from this session was this bursting sense of joy I got to witness from this beautiful family. There was just so much love. So much joy. What it is truly and ultimately about at the end of the day.
