Kate & Benji {Palm Cove Wedding Photography}
I know I start out every blog entry saying something nice about my clients, but it always comes from the bottom of my heart — and this one is no different. Coming back from my first meeting with Kate and Benji 6 months ago, I already felt stoked having met such a nice and sincere couple that I could connect with. Well it was nothing compared to the feeling I got the night I came back from their wedding 2 weeks ago.
It sounds like an overstatement, but you know that overwhelming sense of joy you feel when you’re in the presence of love? The goosebumps you get when you watch two people share a moment? The tears that well up in your own eyes when you watch a father cry looking at his daughter for the last time as his own little girl? Well, I was blessed beyond my worth to witness all of these amazing moments shared between two families and two very, very special people.
I still tear up a bit listening to vows and speeches, but this was the first time that I cried editing Kate and Benji’s photos from the day. My goal as a documentary wedding photographer is always to create wedding images that are observations from the day and not posed or planned portraits, so that when my clients look back at their wedding photos they see how much love and joy they have in their life, shared among their friends and family. It might be the most planned and obviously happy occasion of their life, but I want those memories to be as real as possible — and I think I’ve captured them. So with so much joy and excitement I would like to share these photos with you.
Benji and Kate, thank you again for inviting me into your lives, for your kindness and trust, and for sharing your love with us. xoxo
