Rachel & Luke // Tablelands Wedding Photographer
One of my favourite weddings of 2017 was definitely Rachel and Luke’s for so many reason!
It felt like a mini reunion with the bridal party, having photographed Rachel’s bridesmaid’s wedding 2 years ago (click to see Lucy’s enchanted wedding).
The wedding took place at Rachel’s grandparents’ cattle farm where she grew up. The place holds so many special memories for Rachel and her family and was beautiful all lit up. The woodland and rustic decor was lovingly made and set up by family and friends. Their dog Bella walked down the aisle and was given a special spot with the bridal party. After the ceremony, we drove around the property and took photographs at some of Rachel and Luke’s favourite places — the pine and ironbark forest, the creek she and her friends grew up swimming at, and the ghost gum grove.
As the sun set, guests relaxed and mingled with drinks from a pop-up bar and lawn games. Reception was held under a giant marquee decked out in fairy lights, catered by Cairns Spit Roast. A live band played all night and when it started to get cool, guests hung out around the bonfire while others danced. A lot of guests camped on-site (what a great idea!) so they could party late into the night and not have to worry about going home.
It was so well planned and executed for a bush wedding.
P.S. Special thanks to my awesome second photographer Kobie Johnson who blitzed his first massive wedding with me and covered groom prep and lawn games with so many great shots that I couldn’t have been there for. x
