I honestly cannot believe how I could have forgotten to blog this wedding of Joshua and Rebecca, because it is one of my favourite weddings to have had the privilege to capture, and personally some of my best work to date. I think it helped that they were both such beautiful people inside and out, that they were so smitten with each other… and I think they are each other’s safe place, and it made my heart full looking back at these photographs.

Another reason this wedding meant a lot to me: it was the only wedding I ever shot at Tjapukai Cultural Park. As a ceremony venue, it was enchanting. The surrounding nature and the spirit of the place made the wedding feel extra special. I drove past Tjapukai, now closed permanently thanks to the pandemic shutting our international borders, and it felt nostalgic and sad that so many people won’t get to see and learn about indigenous culture at this wonderful place again.
